Eileen Lynch
Thank you for visiting my page
My name is Eileen Lynch and I am 28 years old. I come from Aghabullogue, in mid-Cork and I am a Solicitor with O’Flynn Exhams Solicitors in Cork City. I graduated from University College Cork in 2012 with a degree in Law and Irish, having completed my Leaving Certificate in Coachford Community College in 2008. Prior to completing my solicitor training I worked as a Parliamentary Assistant to Senator Colm Burke, Cork North Central and Senator Michael Comiskey, Sligo Leitrim.
I am from a farming background and am involved in several local community organisations including Macra na Feirme. I am also involved in the greyhound industry. In my spare time, I love music, both playing and attending concerts, theatre and travel.
I have been involved in Local, National and European politics with Fine Gael and Young Fine Gael for over ten years. Through this involvement, I have seen the importance of politics and the difference that good politicians can make. Politics is truly one of the main mechanisms available to us to achieve change; social change, economic change or environmental change.I was recently elected Secretary General of the Youth of the European People’s Party (YEPP); this has been a great honour for me. YEPP is the largest youth political organisation in Europe and connects almost 1 million young people in Europe who are part of Christian Democratic and Conservative political parties. We work hard to provide a voice for young Europeans by bringing forward policy which we believe is in the interests of young people.
I have recently been selected to be a Fine Gael Candidate for the Cork County Council Local Elections in the Macroom Electoral Area. I believe that I can be a strong voice and advocate for the people of this area. I want to work with communities to make our communities stronger. I believe in better for all.
If you have any questions about me, my campaign or my policies, please get in touch via facebook, email or phone.
Best wishes,Eileen
Press Release - Re: Pay Parking In Macroom
"Bring more to Macroom
Fine Gael candidate in the Macroom Electoral Area for the upcoming local election Eileen Lynch, was speaking following the approval of the new Macroom parking bye-laws which introduce further pay parking in the town.
“ The new parking bye laws introduce further pay parking in the Chapel Hill area and the Fair Green area between the roundabout and Fitzgerald’s Funeral Home. Thankfully, the proposal to increase the pay parking time from 10am to 9am was rejected by the Municipal Council.”
“ Parking is a serious issue in the town and as we move towards becoming a bypassed town it is vital that all possible measures are put in place to support and attract business for Macroom.”
The original proposal suggested that more pay parking should be introduced in Macroom town in the area by Fair Green Plaza, in front of Dunnes Stores and by Chapel Hill. They further proposed that the hours of operation should be increased so that they would start at 9am rather than the current 10am.
“Macroom is a town that should be benefitting more from tourism and passing trade and sometimes our parking laws deter this. We need to look to other towns such as Mallow where they have a “free Friday” whereby parking in the town is free in the afternoon on Friday. Any measures such as these should be investigated to see if they are a viable option for our town.”
